Moorish Idols naturally forage for small invertebrates, sponge and corals, and do have more involved dietary requirements. They actively forage throughout the day, and have quick metabolisms. This is why we like to feed our Idols several times per day, a variety of frozen food, nori and pellets.

Offer a varied diet of live or frozen/dry foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, blackworms, clam meat, pellets, nori. There is a possibility for this fish to pick at your corals, so keep them well fed to avoid them getting the urge to pick!

Temperament & Compatibility:
Peaceful; best kept with other non-aggressive tankmates. Generally found in pairs that mate for life.

Notes:
Best suited for intermediate to experienced aquarists due to their specialized space and dietary needs. The Moorish Idol is a beautiful and elegant addition to the large reef aquarium!
